Kerstin Zettmar, artist and Rosen Method Practitioner, leads the class through practical exercises in Rosen Method Bodywork as means for uncovering the authentic self.
No formal training in bodywork is required. Principles of "listening touch," unconditional presence, and awareness of breath will be taught as touchstones to personal truth.
Human beings function best in body, mind, and spirit when we can be honest with ourselves, owning what is really happening in our lives-- and when we truly acknowledge something deep inside, we relax, with benefits to our immune system, our peace of mind, and our relationship to the world. This process can be fun, educational, and exciting, bringing surprises and insights along the way.
When a person doesn't know how to safely express grief,
anger, jealousy, longing and other emotions that have been judged
as negative and unwanted, the person creates a barrier of muscle
tension between him/her self and the world.
It begins as a protection. Then it may become an habitual holding
back that creates stress in the body, mind and spirit. This
constant long-term tension also stresses the immune system and
makes a person feel lonely and isolated.
A muscle only knows how to do two things: work or not work. A
constantly held muscle is a muscle that has forgotten that
relaxation is possible. Rosen Method Bodywork uses touch,
awareness of breath and verbal interaction to assist the client
in becoming aware of what is going on in his or her body-mind at
a deeper level. We inquire into what lies behind the need for
holding so tight. Most often, the protective stance made perfect
sense at one time and may have helped the client in "getting
through." So we honor the holding that is there and yet we
also question if that it still the only or best option available
to the client today. Awareness creates more possibilities and
more freedom. As self-awareness and self-acceptance increase,
self-confidence grows. This is a tool for finishing unfinished
business and becoming more comfortable within one's own skin. --Kerstin

What does it mean to be fully alive? What is it like to have an intimate connection to yourself, other people, nature, and whatever you consider the source of life to be? What stops you from relaxing into who you really are and co-create your life from that place?
Marion Rosen, founder of Rosen method states. "Body tensions are expressions of our emotional attitude. When muscles are tense, joints can´t move and both physical and emotional freedom becomes limited unless the truth of what we feel becomes acknowledged, addresses and accepted. To see ourselves fully means we do not have to pretend. The energy used to protect ourselves can then go into living. Truthfulness about oneself is very powerful and that is one of the central goals of this work."
This workshop is ideal for health professionals such as Massage therapists, Physical Therapists and Psychotherapists who wish to deepen and expand their work it also attracts meditators and men and women who are seriously interested in personal growth. Massage Therapists can obtain 15 CEU´s by attending this Two day Seminar + a One day Seminar.
Workshop includes : Check- In, Theory, Demonstrations, Guided exercises in Rosen touch, listening and unconditional presence. Come with an open mind; a willingness to learn more about what is true for you and others and a basic comfort level around touching and being touched.

recesses of our bodies.
In this workshop you'll be guided in experiential exercises. You'll have the opportunity to
discover what is true for you and give it form and expression through the tools of expressive art. Come join
a community of like-minded people, learn more about the body-mind-spirit connection, deepen your
connection to your authentic self, and have some fun in the process!
