Kerstin received her formal education at Phillips University, Oklahoma, U.S., L'Ecole des Beaux Arts, Aix-en-Provence, France, and Mullsjö Folkhögskola, Jönköping, Sweden.  A native of Sweden, where she began painting in early childhood, Kerstin has lived and worked in Newport since 1982.  Her work has been featured in one-person shows and in galleries in Europe, selling her works internationally. Although working in several mediums, Kerstin has been most widely recognized for her unique, one-of-a-kind fiber-art pieces.  She received a First Place at the Avant-garde and Abstract Art Show at the Wickford Art Association (October 1997).

Her subject matter ranges from outdoor to inner landscapes, often having a dream-like quality reflecting mythological and spiritual themes.
